Hey Guys! Welcome back to the blog and life after Spring Break. I hope despite current circumstances you found ways to relax, recharge, and enjoy a break from school work and other responsibilities. Spring Break here wasn't quite how I had imagined it would be earlier this year but it was still nice. I got to figure out what homeschooling is going to look like for my two sons who are in private school and had some fun doing crafts (if anyone one needs help making paracord bracelets, I am your gal), playing games, enjoying walks outside, and finally finishing the book I started near the end of Christmas Break.
With your online Canvas material this week you have the option of covering a lot of stuff, Mosiah 5-17 to be exact. So I will try to cover this the best I can in this format, but know there is much more material available in your class Modules. As a final reminder you have to complete 2 Modules and attend one Zoom class on Friday, or complete 3 Modules to receive credit for the week.
Now on to the good stuff. After the people in Zarahemla have finished listening to the words of King Benjamin they were filled with the Holy Ghost and experienced this huge increase of faith in fact as they cried with one voice they declared "And we, ourselves, also, through the infinite goodness of God, and the manifestations of his Spirit, have great views of that which is to come; and were it expedient, we could prophesy of all things" (Mosiah 5:3). They are then willing to enter into a covenant with Heavenly Father, "to do his will, and to be obedient to his commandments in all things that he shall command us, all the remainder of our days" (Mosiah 5:5).
As I studied this last week and reflected again on it this morning I was caught up in the similarities
between the experience of these Nephites and myself after this great general conference weekend. With all of the fear, anxiety, and commotion going on in my world, let alone the entire world, it was so nice to be lifted intensely by the Spirit and hear the encouraging worlds of the Prophet and Apostles. I woke up Sunday morning with this extreme calm I have not felt in weeks and the phrase repeating in my mind, "it is all going to be okay, just keeping moving forward, it is all going to be okay." To continue to feel this peace I need to follow the prompting to keep working and keep moving forward. I also need to follow through with the promptings I felt during conference as well as the specific directions given to all of us. That is exactly King Benjamin then encourages his people to do as he records the names of all who covenant to follow (Mosiah 6).
I guess the question I pose to myself and all of you is what are you going to do to continue to feel the way you do after General Conference weekend? What promptings do you need to follow through on?
President M. Russell Ballard, President of the Quorum of the Twelve, invited us to each ponder what righteous offering can I offer to the Lord. He then encouraged us to be courageous and share it with someone and then take the time to follow through. Here is my answer, that I courageously share with you:

He then encouraged us to be courageous and share it with someone and then take the time to follow through. Here is my answer, that I courageously share with you:
- Participate in the Prophet's call for a world wide fast on Friday "that the present pandemic may be controlled, caregivers protected, the economy strengthened, and life normalized."
- Take time out of each day this week to study the new bicentennial proclamation to the world: "The Restoration of the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ" with my children (this is roughly two paragraphs a day).
- Dedicate time to prayer and pondering as I reflect on Joy D. Jones' reminder that "women wear many hats but it is impossible and unnecessary to wear them all at once. The Spirit helps us determine which work to focus on today." So I can know what to focus on today, right here right now, and what is not worth my time or effort.
Feel free to comment and share what you loved or felt prompted to do from General Conference.
