Hope everyone is hanging in there! Just a reminder it is Wednesday, just in case you have lost track of what day it is, half way to the weekend which may not feel like quiet a difference than a week day right now but hopefully you don't have to do so much school work or juggling of stuff. For me I am just looking forward to not spending 12 hours a day hunched over a computer, desk, table working on work stuff or home-school stuff.
Today I am going to share some quick thoughts about Mosiah 11-12:17, after last post the less words out of me the better. Zeniff's son Noah, yes wicked King Noah, is now in charge (if you need a reminder of what is going on right now in Mosiah see previous blog post HERE).
As I studied this morning there was one word that kept standing out to me and that was the word heart. When describing King Noah he is described as: "[walking] after the desires of his own heart (Mosiah 11:2)" and "[placing] his heart upon his riches, and he spent his time in riotous living with his wives and his concubines; and so did also his priest spend their time with harlots (Mosiah 11:14)." Nice guy! (insert sarcasm here) Where our heart is matters, in fact it is the only thing that matters. The heart is the central or innermost part of something. Besides keeping as alive, it metaphorically shows where our priorities our as well as our inner most desires.
Can I be a vulnerable for a minute? I am often constantly consumed with making ends meet and providing for my children like many other adults. Some of you may be worried about having enough money for your car, gas, or college and what career would best provide for your future. You feel me? About a week ago my Dad and Mom bluntly said to me (in separate for very similar conversations, creepy I know), "Satan has you right where he wants you?" I was kind of confused about this because I didn't feel like I was doing anything particularly wrong in my life. As I probed my parents for further explanation they both said something similar to, "Satan wants you so worried about making ends me and what corona virus may do to that, that you aren't focused on the important things." Then that light bulb went off and that nudge from the Holy Ghost saying "ding ding ding, right on the money." Now, the point of this story isn't that we shouldn't worry about having enough to pay our bills, saving for a rainy day, or being good stewards of our resources but it is where is Sister Coleman's heart? Where has my focus been? What have I become distracted from? What am I missing because my focus was elsewhere?
Getting to the heart of the matter (oh, man the dad jokes that could fly, someone stop me).....where is your heart? What are you focused on? What is your greatest desires? Is your heart with the Savior so you can hear Him or is it on other things? In King Noah's case he couldn't hear the warnings of Abinadi who was trying to save his life and the life of others.

Thanks for the reminder to keep my heart/focus on what matters most in spite of all the ever-present worldly concerns. ❤️'d it. You're the best!
